Lewis Hamilton has criticised Red Bull for replacing Daniil Kvyat with Max Verstappen for the rest of the season.
The Austrian team promptly replaced Kvyat after a disastrous race in Russia with 18-year-old Verstappen, and sent Kvyat back to Toro Rosso.
But Hamilton said he wouldn’t have made the same choice and urged teams to give young drivers time.
“It’s a good opportunity for one and for the other very unfortunate.
“Red Bull has done very well in bringing young talent forwards but they need to be aware young drivers need time to progress. Mistakes do happen.
“There is so much pressure on us, particularly at a young age, there is so much to learn and a lot of pressure on our shoulders.
“To take a driver out of a team where he is comfortable and move into another, it’s a difficult position to be in.
“Do I agree with it? It doesn’t really matter, but it’s definitely not something I would particularly do.”
