Red Bull boss Christian Horner has sent a clear warning to Ferrari, telling them that his team is gunning for second place in the table after the summer break.

The Austrian manufacturers, who dominated the sport between 2010-2014, had lost their place at the top of the perch but are now on the comeback.

And with Max Verstappen being the only driver aside from a Mercedes to win this year, Horner has told second-placed Ferrari that the fight is on.

"It is massive. We thought we would be, pre-season, lucky to be in the top five,” said Horner

"So to be fighting Ferrari, one point behind at the halfway point of the season, having won a race is good.

"That was what our sixth podium finish this season, and to have both cars in their respective battles with Ferrari finish ahead was a great performance.

"It was a great first half of the year for us, and we were always confident that our second half of the year would be stronger than our first half."
