Kubica joins Alfa Romeo with PKN Orlen as Co-Title sponsor
Alfa Romeo Racing has announced that PKN ORLEN will join the team as Official Co-Title Sponsor starting from the 2020 season thanks to a multi-year major partnership and Robert Kubica as their reserve driver.
The Polish petroleum giant, a company with an extensive presence in its home country, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania and Canada, will assume co-title sponsor rights at Alfa Romeo Racing, which will now compete as Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN. PKN ORLEN branding will feature on the team’s C39 car and on all team trackside assets, with an exciting programme of fan engagement – to be announced ahead of the 2020 season – as a key element of this partnership.
The partnership will also see Robert Kubica return to the team that gave him his Formula One debut and first win as he joins Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN in a reserve driver role for the 2020 season.
With the continued support of Alfa Romeo, which since 2018 has been instrumental to the team’s rise, the new partnership will empower Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN to make the next crucial step forward on the Formula One grid in the 2020 season and beyond.

That would be 2 out of 8 GP winners (25%) and 1 out 3 world champions (33%) of the entire current grid - appears not requiring an outside-the-box thinking...
Using that method you might want to put Damon Hill and Stirling Moss in the Team then.
They're not even thinking of the present let alone the future, one is a 'has been' pensioner, another is a pensioner with mobility problems and one is a youngster with a question mark against his name and was lucky to keep his seat
No disrespect to KUB. His determination has earned him a good job in our sport. But, this deal is all about the $$$, especially considering Alfa's looming departure. Re drivers, Alfa has RAI who is still damned fast and has great fan appeal, but they need to add a youngster who is WDC caliber for 2021. GIO is not gonna' cut it.
Just Why would ANY young WDC prospect pit themselves forward - especially 'considering Alfas impending departure' from F1? That's nonsensical.
Normally you are 100% correct. But, there is currently a plethora of young talent out there, Orlen is bringing bags of $$$ and Sauber has an excellent reputation for developing young drivers.
