Daniil Kvyat says he has not had a proper explanation for the reason Red Bull decided to drop him for the rest of the season.
The Russian has been replaced by Dutchman Max Verstappen for the rest of 2016, with Kvyat being put back in at Toro Rosso.
The 22-year-old had a disastrous race in Russia two weeks ago as he hit Sebastian Vettel twice and Red Bull opted to make the change two week after he earned a podium in China.
“There was no real explanation,” he said.
“If the bosses want something to happen they just make it happen.
“I feel like I did everything for the team, bringing in the points, doing development work.
“We’ve been working well together, so it’s a question for other people who made the decision and who can give a better answer than that.
“So I really don’t see any reason.”
He later added: “But the bosses made their decision, I have to accept it and do the best job possible with Toro Ross.”
