Marussia may compete at this weekend’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix with reports suggesting that its freight is on its way to the venue.

Marussia entered administration last month after a turbulent financial period and have made all their staff redundant.

However, Sky Sports is reporting that the team is locked in talks with an investor with the hope of entering Sunday’s race.

The team were not expected to race in Formula One again but if they could compete in the season-ending grand prix then they would secure a large amount of prize money, as they sit 9th in the Constructors Standings. The team have never finished higher than 10th.

A Ferrari source told journalist Adam Cooper that Marussia’s power units, which they buy off the Italian giants, and the engineers who operate them are in the desert should the team require them.

It is not clear who would drive for the team.
