Sep.18 - A neurology specialist doubts Michael Schumacher will ever emerge from his current condition.

Almost nothing is known about the current health situation of the F1 legend, who has not been seen in public since striking his head on a rock whilst skiing in the French Alps in late 2013.

"I think he's in a vegetative state, which means he's awake but not responding," said Professor Erich Riederer, a Zurich-based neurology specialist.

"He is breathing, his heart is beating, he can probably sit up and take baby steps with help, but no more," he explained in a documentary on TMC about Schumacher's unknown condition.

"I think that's the maximum for him. Is there any chance of seeing him like he was before his accident? I really don't think so," Prof. Riederer added.

I love these docs opining on his condition about which they admittedly have no knowledge. When Corinna and the kids have a comment I will listen.....until then STFU. Oldwit has it right.

I had no knowledge of this terrible tragedy till I read this !! Of all the comments I could make about the horror of this , what strikes me most prominently IS that Life can be so cruel.....You can never imagine the kinds of curves you might be facing The battles you may have to fight , or ENDURE !! Michael has already proven he is a CHAMPION of extraordinary abilities , and I believe if there is any chance of recovery that requires his strength of character HE WILL ACHIEVE IT ! God bless Him....I myself know something about struggle as a Bilateral Amputee......Something I don't normally reveal ,my prayers are very much with him.

This is pure speculation, I think. I am sure SCH's prognosis for recovery are nil, but I am not a medical man.
I do think this nonsense will stop when his wife give some information on his condition. If not it must not be a bother to them. We are talking about a race car driver, one of the very best, but the world doesn't hang in the balance. I think the family should give his fans and admirers even the most basic information. I am behind privacy four square but this is at the very extreme.

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU???!!!!! 'LET HIM GO???!!!' I'm not saying this because he was a 7 time champion and all the record breaking stuff he did. But he's a human being, and you just said to 'LET HIM GO'
