Sergio Pérez has been handed a seven place grid penalty for his ‘reckless’ driving at the US Grand Prix.

Perez lost control of his car and skimmed Kimi Raikkonen’s Ferrari before slamming into the side of Adrian Sutil’s Sauber.

It was a clear error on the Mexican’s side and he has been punished retrospectively,

A seven place penalty is reduced from the normal 10 after taking into account the fewer cars on the grid.

Perez will do well to not start at the back of the grid this weekend at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
