Perez on track to renew his Red Bull deal
May 10 - Sergio Perez appears to be on track for another one-year deal to remain Max Verstappen's teammate at Red Bull in 2023.
There has been speculation the energy drink-owned team may be looking to re-promote Pierre Gasly, or perhaps even snap up Fernando Alonso, whose Alpine deal expires this year.
"Alonso is a great driver," team boss Christian Horner said in Miami.
"It's fantastic that he is still in Formula 1 but he doesn't fit in our plans."
In fact, Horner has described maintaining the status quo at Red Bull a "no brainer".
"Yes, we have begun negotiations," Mexican Perez confirmed. "But we are not in a hurry to do something in the near future."

Getting an extension is another matter.
I still have hope for Gasly’s repromotion, but time will tell.
Perez is a great driver that has been under rated over the years. You couldn't wish for a better nr 2 either. I reckon it's a given he'll get an renewal.
I have just read that mb are deciding whether or not to ditch their present car and go back to the concept car, can they do this without being penalised.
Course they can, they are Mercedes...and if you dont like it , well bring along our lawyers and let them sort it out lol
