A Dutch parliamentarian wants grid girls to be on the Zandvoort grid next year.

Early last year, F1 owner Liberty Media controversially banned grid girls from every grand prix on the calendar.

But Party for Freedom politician Roy van Aalst, a member of the house of representatives in the Netherlands, said Liberty's decision was an example of "female patronisation".

"Grid girls belong in Formula 1 as much as the cars do," he is quoted by Dutch media.

"Only an idiot sees a beautiful woman as a problem. The rest of the people love it.

"It is a part of motor sport, and the PVV (Partij voor de Vrijheid) wants to ensure that next year this beautiful tradition will be restored."

The Dutch GP returns to the F1 calendar in 2020.

Women are not there to be paraded like an animal being sold in a cattle market !- it is called sexism in the 21st century! Try to be PC and look further than your noses-the world is changed since F1 was born and grid girls were accepted as part of the parade!

These girls actually want to be grid girls, Pam. They do have a choice in the matter.
A lot of them have made a decent career out of it. No ones forcing them to do it. They enjoy it too. And thats why there was such an uproar about it. Its a catch 22 situation where people think its sexist. and then theres the other issue of people are getting torn from their jobs without any say.
if you dont want to be a grid girl then dont be one?

The modern woman is more than capable of making the right choices for herself and doesn't
need the permission of others to do so,OR IS FREEDOM/ DEMOCRACY not available to them

Awesome. It is becoming my favorite GP of the season without even having a race there haha. Let's stop discrimination against women once and for all!
