A protest threat is hanging over next weekend's Monaco Grand Prix.

On Wednesday, disgruntled taxi drivers disrupted services at Nice Airport over a union dispute, which affected the Cannes film festival.

Now, Monaco is in their sights.

"If we do not get satisfaction, we are ready to go further," Nice Matin quoted one of the drivers as saying.

"If we do not have an answer by May 22, it's simple. The 23rd is the beginning of the Monaco Grand Prix and we will block everything."

For sure those taxi drivers may be French but Monaco is not so this could play different. What's funny is the latest F1 fan survey centered on taxis and other possible issues of access to F1 tracks.

Be sensible and take the airport bus to Mention, hopefully already having a hotel at 1/3 the cost of Monaco. Then take the train from Menton to Monaco and walk down the hill to the track. Especially if you have a seat at Anthony Loges. Or better yet, go to the Monaco Historic in May of 2020 and see a much more intenstng race.
