Daniel Ricciardo has claimed that he almost suffered whiplash as a result of the terrible Renault engine which plagued his 2015 season.
The Red Bull driver was immense last year and won three times during his first season with the team, but he struggled in 2015 due to the engine’s lack of power.
And now the Australian has hit out at its drivability.
He told BBC Sport: "The first few races power was one thing, but [with the] driveability I was getting a headache from my head getting whiplash.
"There were a lot of splutters and whatnot going on when I got on the power. That made it nearly impossible to win this year."
Ricciardo’s claims have been backed up by team boss Christian Horner, who again hinted at a poor relationship between them and Renault.
"On top of the driveability then there were reliability issues as well.
"It is difficult because we are in a competition, we are pushing hard, promises are made and expectations are therefore set. And when that doesn't happen inevitably frustrations boil over."
