Nico Rosberg has taken full advantage of Lewis Hamilton's engine woes in Belgium by taking pole position for tomorrow's race.

The Mercedes driver trails Hamilton by 19 points in the championship standings, but could claw that back in tomorrow's race with Hamilton last on the grid.

Max Verstappen starts second for Red Bull, becoming the youngest ever front-row starter after pushing Rosberg close.

He beat Ferrari duo Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel, who are primed for a good race tomorrow after saving tyres.

Verstappen will stop earlier than Rosberg in tomorrow's race, so he must beat the German off the line if he is to have any hope of a second career victory.

His team-mate Daniel Ricciardo will be disappointed with his effort having qualified fifth, while Force India's Sergio Pérez and Nico Hulkenberg start sixth and seventh.

Jenson Button, who claims to be in the best form of his career, split the Williams pair of Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa as McLaren secured another top 10 spot.
