Lewis Hamilton will start on pole for tomorrow's Austrian Grand Prix, after Nico Rosberg ruined his final lap and spun into the gravel.

The German driver looked set to steal pole after Hamilton spun his car in Turn 1, but he lost control in the final corner and ended up in the gravel trap.

Hamilton will feel relieved to start at the front tomorrow, after being completely outperformed by Rosberg over the course of the weekend.

However, the championship leader pulled together a stunning lap to go two tenths quicker than Rosberg mid-way through Q3 after previously trailing by over four tenths of a second.

Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel will line up third, but there was more misery for his team-mate Kimi Raikkonen, who failed to make it past Q1.

Williams driver Felipe Massa will start fourth, ahead of Force India's Nico Hulkenberg.

McLaren will start at the back of the grid thanks to two 25-place penalties for Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso, while Daniel Ricciardo qualified 14th for Red Bull.
