Doctors treating Michael Schumacher report a 'slight improvement' in his condition. He has been operated for the second time this morning. However doctors caution Schumacher's condition remains "critical" and say it's too soon to make predictions about a recovery.

The Doctors say they were ‘surprised’ by results of a brainscan, but ‘there is still a long road ahead’ and warn against any predictions about the near future.

His situation is still critical but not exactly the same as yesterday. They are unable to say he is out of the danger zone and cannot tell anything more'.

"The level of inter-cranial pressure has improved.  The brain scan does show there are other legions," one said.

"Once again the coming hours are still critical hours when it comes to strategy."

The doctors also said the medical press conferences will not necessarily take place every day, but only if there is specific news about Schumacher's condition.
