Sep.21 - Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes were "too dramatising" in the wake of the seven time world champion's scary incident with title rival Max Verstappen at Monza.

That is the view of former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher, who nonetheless agrees that Hamilton is a "colourful" driver who "gives Formula 1 a lot".

However, Schumacher thinks the 36-year-old went over the top by suggesting he was actually injured as a result of Verstappen's Red Bull climbing over his roll-over hoop at Monza.

"I think Lewis was too dramatising of it, considering that he flew to New York the next day to attend an event," he told Sport1, referring to Hamilton's appearance on the red carpet at the Met Gala.

Schumacher also hit out at Mercedes boss Toto Wolff for always rejecting any critique of Hamilton.

"If there is any criticism at all, Toto comes right out and says 'That's not how you talk about a seven-time world champion'," Schumacher noted.

OK, Sir Lewis is a prima donna, but the fact is were it not for the recent halo addition he would have had a wheel on his head. Over dramatized? hmm

WITHOUT A DOUBT THE HALO WORKED AS INTENDED AND PREVENTED INJURY.BUT SOME LIKE TO BELIEVE MAX PARKED IT THERE ON PURPOSE ITS NOT THE CASE.WHEN HE WAS TRYING TO REVERSE OUT IT WAS CLEAR HE WAS OK.

There is thanking Halo for things.... , and then there's taking the piss, id put Hamilton in that category , and milking it for all its worth, I mean Alonso , Le Clerc Grosjean, all are grateful for the Halo , but did they go on about it like Hammy has.............

You and mm are both correct (tho' I don't understand his screeching), as I said Sir Lewis is a first rate prima donna (sorry I missed him at The Met) but that does not excuse VER's 'red haze' actions, nor does it mitigate the results.

It appears the revolving rear wheel of the Red Bull did touch down on Lewis H head. The accident could have been fatal so any idiots treating this as a joke proves they are short in the IQ.
I love F1 and favour a lot of drivers. I am not an fan of some and Max would be one. However, apart from this comment, I do not provide completely childish comments ant him or any other drivers.
