Jean Todt has added to his list of suggestions for improving Formula 1. Earlier, the FIA president said the sport should look into reintroducing refuelling, as the cars have become much heavier than in decades past.

"With a lighter car, we could fight harder," said championship leader Lewis Hamilton when asked about Todt's proposal.

But Todt has some more suggestions. "We have to consider the list of all of these driver aids," the Frenchman is quoted by Brazil's Globo. "We want more opportunities for a driver to make a mistake. Think about when Michael Schumacher probably lost the championship in 1998," said Todt, proposing that F1 should ban anti-stall systems.

He also thinks telemetry should be banned, especially with the way it is instantly analysed by team members back at the factories. "We want the races to be less predictable, and for that, we must get rid of telemetry," said Todt.

But Hamilton thinks Todt's best idea is to reintroduce refuelling. "Except for having a lighter car, I don't think many of those (other suggestions) are going to do much," he said. "The cars don't need to be 730 kilos. They just don't need to be that heavy," said the Mercedes driver.

  1. OK then

What driving aids, they've no ABS or anti wheel spin devices? Also banning anti-stall software is just plan stupid because it dangerous. Drivers have been killed due to stalled cars on the grid.

Your right "Ok then". The anti-stall system probably would have saved Riccardo Paletti's life at the start of the Canadian GP back in 1982.

I personally think it if you want pure racing with more driver error, than you should get rid of radio communication, power steering and all engine mapping buttons on the steering wheel.

do away with all driver aids plus the rear wing opening on pass within one second. the wings on the front should not be louvered but one piece and can't be no wider than the car body is. the body of the car has to be where no wings or appendages are hanging off of it, other than a mirror.
