Apr.1 - Franz Tost says he is "sure" Yuki Tsunoda will go on to become the first world champion from Japan.

"He'll be world champion one day. I'm sure of that," the AlphaTauri boss told Sport1's AvD Motor und Sport Magazin.

It's been a similar tune coming from AlphaTauri team owner Red Bull in recent weeks, as the premier outfit admits the possibility that Max Verstappen could theoretically leave in 2022.

"After a less good qualifying, his driving was super," Dr Helmut Marko told Osterreich newspaper when asked about Tsunoda's debut race in F1.

"It's refreshing to see how he overtook. That's the future," the Austrian enthused.

Tost said one of the diminutive 20-year-old's best strengths is his personality.

"He only came to Europe from Japan two years ago. These are completely different cultures," said the Austrian. "To assert himself like that, you have to be very, very strong in the head."

Look don't get me wrong Tsunoda could be but they say that about a guy after 1 race yet you have Vettel a 4 time world champion who they write off after 1 race it's 1 race people are so quick to praise or judge

Odd really considering Japans Motorsport heritage they haven't produced any notable f1 drivers and by notable i mean at least multiple race winners, bless em though every few tears one pops up, but doesn't really cut it
