Mar.28 - Former driver Jarno Trulli has revealed he is no fan of modern Formula 1 - and all because of the turbo 'power units'.

Now 46, the Italian raced for no fewer than six teams in the naturally-aspirated V10 and V8 eras.

"I don't like this Formula 1 - it's not for me," Trulli, whose son Enzo is contesting the United Arab Emirates Formula 4 championship in 2021, told Gazzetta Motori.

"I don't want to judge, I'm just saying that the power units are unnecessarily expensive and complicated. They also create big problems in the management of the team.

"I would go back to the naturally aspirated V8. Not so much because they can only use three power units for the 23 rounds this year, but because they are problematic systems to adapt to Formula 1 cars," he added.

One F1 fan comment on “Trulli no fan of current F1 'power unit' era

I started watching F1 in the late 60's.
I stopped watching F1 at the end of the 2013 season because the Hateful Left spoils everything it has infultrated, including F1.
As usual, The Hateful Left [in this case, its Department of Ecology Police] knows what's best for everyone because they think that they're so dang smart. Naturally, they know that it's our job to shut up, listen, & obey them.
The 2014 Season brought with it a new Power Plant that sounded like "a commercial grade leaf blower". From this very season onward
it has been The Hateful Lefts mission to remove "all excess from the sport of F1 Racing". F1 has become, in my opinion, boring. Also, I dare to state that Jarno Trulli would agree with me.
    As for Jarno Trulli himself?
He is my all time favorite F1 driver.
No doubt that he was a very skilled
racer, but I'm elaborating on the man behind the machine. What a class act
    he is!
God Bless you Jarno Trulli & your entire family. In Jesus Name,
    Amen.
    Sincerely:
    David J. Zizzo
