Sebastian Vettel said he is still fully supportive of the Ferrari technical team despite a number of problems affecting them this season.
Vettel’s car broke down in Friday practice, while he didn’t start the race in Bahrain due to a technical error.
Kimi Raikkonen failed to finish in Australia too, but Vettel insists the team are still sitting pretty.
“I’m not frustrated at all. It is not nice because it doesn’t make life easier but it is part of racing, these things happen. It wasn’t on purpose but we are doing well to catch up.
“We have not had a properly clean race yet. There are a lot of things that can happen so we will wait and see but it is still April and there is along way to go and it is a long championship.
“It is important to do your best and het as many points as possible.”
Vettel qualified second, 0.8s behind Nico Rosberg, although he will drop to seventh due to a grid penalty.
However, with Lewis Hamilton dropping out due to engine problems, Vettel had a shot at pole but Rosberg comfortably held him off.
“I wanted the gap to be smaller,” he said.
“Nico is very strong so he did well. For us it was the maximum we could do.
“We benefited from Lewis to get P2 which helps tomorrow. We can have a good race. The car feels good. All weekend has been good, we made some time up this morning.”
