Susie Wolff’s first day of testing has ended in disaster, after she collided with Sauber’s Felipe Nasr today.

The Williams test driver was going slowly round the circuit on an outlap, while Nasr was on a hotlap when they collided and ended up in the gravel trap.

Wolff has reportedly insisted that the crash was not her fault to the team behind closed doors.

The incident meant that both drivers missed most of the afteroon, with the Sauber in particular suffering substantial damage.

Wolff had completed 83 laps up to that point, while Nasr completed 68.
