Max Verstappen won his 36th F1 race during the 2023 Bahrain F1 GP today. The Red Bull driver started from pole and won the 19th race on the Bahrain International circuit for the first time. It was the 93rd victory and 23rd 1-2 finish for the Red Bull Racing team.

F1 Race Report

The Bahrain Formula 1 Grand Prix started with a clean start, but Red Bull driver Sergio Pérez had a bad start and lost his P2 to Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc before the first corner. However, Max Verstappen was in great form and was already one second ahead of Leclerc after one lap. The Alfa Romeo driver Valtteri Bottas moved up from P12 to P8, and rookie Logan Sargeant was also doing an excellent job in the Williams by driving on P13 after starting on P16.

In lap 10, Alpine driver Pierre Gasly made the first pit stop and switched from the Soft to the Hard tyre compound, causing other drivers like Yuki Tsunoda and Lando Norris also to pit for the Hards. Bottas was the first driver in the top 10 to pit, falling back to P14 in lap 12.

At the halfway point of the race, Verstappen was almost 14 sec. in front of his teammate Pérez, with Alonso in P3. In lap 34, Leclerc pitted from P3 to switch from Hard to Hard, and Alonso still had not done his second pit stop and moved up to P3.

In lap 41, Leclerc's Ferrari lost power as his engine stalled, causing a VSC period to recover the SF-23. In front, the fight for the podium was evolving. Five laps later, Alonso could use DRS to pass his countryman Sainz, at turn 4 of lap 45. Hamilton now also was close enough to attack the Spanish Ferrari driver for P4, but Sainz managed to hold on to his position.

Verstappen continued to lead the race and was driving on soft tires, already having driven 21 laps on them in lap 37. He had a comfortable lead of more than 37 seconds on Pérez, who also did not lose his place after his second pit stop. In turn 4, Alonso and Hamilton almost collided when Alonso had passed the Mercedes driver, but Hamilton fought back and eventually finished P4.

Overall, it was an exciting race with a lot of action and drama. Verstappen's dominant performance was impressive, and Pérez managed to make up for his bad start with a solid race. Alonso also showed that he is still a fierce competitor, with a well-deserved podium finish. We look forward to the next Grand Prix and hope to see more thrilling battles on the track.

A Red Bull 1-2 as expected & a deserved DOTD honor to Alonso.
A decent start for Williams, but what a race for Ocon & Norris.
Leclerc’s chances (if he has any) already got a blow.
Good drive by Stroll considering his situation.

Correct , Rb seem to be in a very good place , as I said , Fernando not only looks in very good form , he IS , I watched this on Sky , urgg, but in the Ted Crapitz notebook , hes walking past the "Ferrari powered" Haas garages and there all packing up , and what do i spy , Big Haas coloured HONDA generators, See they get everywhere lol, Williams look in race trim much improved, Mcl , oh dear, oh Dear all that Arab money and they get a leaky air pipe, but il give it 7/10 as a race overall, need a few more races to fully warm up. See I can go a whole comment with an insult

Yeah, Shrop', but we expect more from you. BTW, we disagree. Speed, competitive, drama, clean...great race. Penalize RB 100 hp and we've got a series. Otherwise, give them the trophies now...unbeatable team.

Re Haas: I've been a loyal fan since they joined the circus. Now I hope they get their butts beaten and Mr. Haas sells to Andretti. I need a US team to support. McL, embarrassing.

Start low on the excitement and build up, is my mantra/sorry excuse and I'm sticking to it lol, a thorough trouncing of the Dame down the Hamilton Str should suffice, by the way do you know what the miniature versions of the winning driver and constructor were about , never seen them before...!, as for Haas, come on Ror, get your contact to gee up Gene and sell to Andetretti, lets face it , he will have more luck in f1 than he had in that Indy race, Roman got a bit too excited againnnnn, I vote for Lucy designing a new car, that'll be the 3rd incarnation within 24mths, nice one Merc..Not, let Lucy Lou have a go , cant be any worse, watching sky doing the reports , super noticeable how Relaxed and Happy Nico looked, the same cannot be said for Her Royal Highness aka Lady Stevenage.

Someone in the MB design team has far to much influence and is wrong while better people have moved on. You know who he is Toto, get rid of him before he does more damage. Take back control

Leopold, why do we no longer get email notification when someone posts on an article in which we have engaged? Or is it just me? Thanks.
