The qualifying session for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix delivered plenty of excitement and surprises. Lando Norris clinched a sensational pole position for McLaren, edging out Max Verstappen by a mere 0.020 seconds. Mercedes showed significant improvement with Lewis Hamilton and George Russell securing the second row, while Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz locked out the third row.

Notably, Red Bull's Sergio Perez will start from P11 after receiving a three-place grid penalty for driving a "significantly damaged car" during the previous race in Canada. This penalty reshuffles the grid, adding another layer of intrigue to what promises to be a thrilling race at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

    Drivers seem to be close to their right place relative to their cars and within their teams.
    I think Gasly could shine given a better car - and Albon possibly.
    Have been waiting for Piastri to be closer though.
