Nico Rosberg was able to be fastest at the first practice for the Malaysian Formulua 1 grand prix. His Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton had some technical problems and wasn't able to set a lap time. Ferrari again showed their car has made big improvement on topspeed and engine power.
Fernando Alonso drove his first practice laps of the season for McLaren.
