Event: Italian Grand Prix
Track:  Autodromo Nazionale Monza

Weather:  Rain/Dry, Overcast,  20.5ºC
Tarmac: Wet/Dry, 17.5ºC
Wind speed: 5.8 km/h
Humidity: 92.1%

The first practice for the 2018 Italian Grand Prix started out very wet. It had rained all morning and even the FP1 for the GP3 was cancelled because of the rain.

Daniel Ricciardo, Nico Hülkenberg, Marcus Ericsson, Lando Norris, Pierre Gasly, Kevin Magnussen, Brandon Hartley en Sergio Sirotkin got outside immediately on full wet (blue tyres).

Ricciardo started the session with his new Renault Spec C-upgraded power unit. The Renault F1 team does not use the C-spec engine in their own car, because they are worried about the reliability.

Just like last week Lando Norris was driving the McLaren in FP1. He now drove the car of Stoffel Vandoorne.

At the end of the session the Monza track was almost dry and all drivers run their laps on the much faster (green) intermediate tyres.

We did not see Sebastian Vettel in the second part of the session, because Ferrari mechanics were working on his car.

Force India was doing a very good job Sergio Pérez diove the quickest lap time in FP1.
