Lap times 2nd practice 2018 Belgian F1 Grand Prix

Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo left the garage as first to make up for his lost track time during FP1 this morning. Sergey Sirotkin was the first driver that recorded a lap time in the Williams.

Kimi Raikkonen drove the first lap time under the 1:45 min on Soft Pirelli tyres. After 10 minutes into the session Raikkonen's lap time was a 1:44.400 min. Which is already almost as fast as the quickest lap time in FP1 and far below the official lap record of 1:46.577 min that was set last year during the race by Sebastian Vettel.

Half an hour into the session Lewis Hamilton was fastest in the Mercedes W09 by a few tenth's when Raikkonen slammed that lap time which was 1:43.355 min and more than 1 second faster than his previous fastest lap time. Mean reason was he used the Supersoft tyres for the first time this weekend.

Home Grand Prix driver Stoffel Vandoorne was having a difficult afternoon again with the McLaren MCL33. The first part of the session there was a technical problem and when he at last could enter the track he was the slowest car of the session.

Hamilton had not a very easy session and was locking up his right-front tyre quite often and caused a flat spot on the Pirelli.

The quickest lap time of last year in FP2 was driven by Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes. He drove a 1:44,753 min.
