Charles Leclerc drove the fastest lap time in the third and final practice for the 70th British Formula 1 Grand Prix. His Ferrari team mate Sebastian Vettel was second fastest. The top 6 was only 0.5 sec. apart.

George Russell set the first timed lap of the session, clocking a 1:37.974 min. The British Williams driver backed off towards the end of his first lap and instantly goes quicker by almost six seconds with a 1:31.810 min.

After 10 minutes it started to rain around Silverstone and a few drivers went out (Leclerc and Ricciardo) on intermediate tyres to try the "green" groved tyres. Because the newly surfaced track wasn't wet enough for intermediates and not dry enough for slicks all drivers returned to their garage and waited.

Only six drivers had recorded a lap time after half hour FP3. All that changed quickly when the track was dry enough for slicks.

Just like yesterday both Mercedes drivers topped the timesheets almost the whole session. Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas alternated with the quickest lap time during the final practice for the 2019 British Formula 1 Grand Prix.

Pierre Gasly looks to have closed the gap to his very quick team mate Max Verstappen as he was less than 0.2 sec. slower. With 10 minutes to go Charles Leclerc succeeded in driving the quickest lap time in the Ferrari. He was 0.2 sec. quicker than Hamilton.

With 5 minutes to go Sebastian Vettel accompanied his team mate on P2 with only a 0.026 sec. gap to Leclerc.

Lewis Hamilton drove the quickest lap in last years FP3. He drove a 1:26.722 min.
