Nico Rosberg will start on pole position at tomorrow's 2014 Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix.
The pole battle between both Mercedes F1 drivers Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton was going on, until the last minute of the qualifying session. In the last 5 minutes Rosberg was already fastest and in the last lap he could do, German F1 driver Rosberg braked to late for turn 5 and caused a yellow flag situation. Because of this yellow flag, Hamilton wasn't able to push and could not steel pole away any more.
Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo had a great day again. The Australian beat his quadruple F1 drivers champion team mate Sebastian Vettel. Felipe Massa had a bad qualifying result, because Caterham driver Marcus Ericsson hit his Williams. Rookie Ericsson could not make turn 5, where Massa was letting him pass. Last years pole time was 1:13.876, more then 2 seconds faster then today's 2014 V6 version.
