Lewis Hamilton scored his 78th F1 pole position for tomorrow's 2018 Belgian Grand Prix. It was the 95th pole for the Mercedes F1 team and his 6th pole of the 2018 F1 season. He will start from P1 for the 5th time for tomorrow's race.

The qualifying session for tomorrow's Belgain F1 GP started with a rain prediction of 90%. That's why Q1 was kicked off by Pierre Gasly (Toro Rosso) and Romain Grosjean (Haas) who came out the pit as first to clock a lap time right away to be save before any rain should come.

Raikkonen was fastest on his first stint out of the pit and drove a 1:42.585 min on Soft tyres, while both Red Bull drivers used the faster Supersoft tyre to drive their lap times in Q1. Bottas was the last driver of the top team drivers that clocked a lap time. He crossed the start/finish line with only 2:41 min on the clock and also used the Supersoft Pirelli tyres.

McLaren and Williams teams had a disastrous weekend so far and both teams didn't make it to Q2. Carlos Sainz also didn't make it to Q2.

In Q2 Raikkonen again drove the quickest lap time in the first stint. This time on the softer Supersoft (red) Pirelli tyres. His lap time of 1:41.627 was almost 1 sec. faster than the pole time of 1:42.553 driven by Lewis Hamilton last year. In the second stint it was Sebastian Vettel who improved even more to clock 1:141.501.

The Sauber, Toro Rosso and Renault team now were now eliminated to enter Q3 to get a top 10 grid place for tomorrow's race.

In the beginning of Q3 it started to rain above the Belgian epic circuit. All drivers choose to go out on slick tyres and went out as soon as possible to set their quickest lap time on the much faster slick tyres. Before the end of the first lap of the first stint it rained very hard and Valtteri Bottas spun in the super fast Blanchimont corner.

Almost all cars went to the pit to get intermediate tyres. Both Force India drivers didn't and Perez went of the track in tje super fast Raidillion corner and nearly missed the barrier.

In the last minute of the session it stopped raining again and the track dried out. Both Force India drivers did an amazing job by qualifying P3 & P4!
