Just like in Korea Sebastian Vettel again was the fastest driver in India's first practice. Alonso was 3rd quickest, but has a gap of 4 tenths of a second.
Mexican Esteban Gutierrez had his F1 debut today. He drove Sergio Pérez's Sauber C31 F1 car, because Checco has to recover from a heavy cold. He was 1.4 sec slower than teammate Kamui Kobayashi.
Dutch driver Giedo van der Garde again was driving the Caterham. His quickest laptime was only 3 tenths slower then Vitaly Petrov.
