Both Mercedes drivers again dominated the top 2 spots during the second free practice for the 70th Anniversary GP.
The clear sky of this morning had changed into overcast this afternoon.
With half an hour to go Daniel Ricciardo showed the Renault is picking up pace by being the best of the rest with the 3rd fastest lap time of 1:26.421 min.
5 minutes before the end Sebastian Vettel had to park the Ferrari SF1000 when the German had a big engine failure. After he stopped the car next to the track you could see a lot of oil come out underneath the car.
2 minutes before the end of FP3 the car of Antonio Giovinazzi had a gearbox problem. He parked the Alfa Romeo near Becketts and caused a red flag.
Last weeks fastest FP2 time was 1:27.274 min driven by Lance Stroll in the Racing Point.
