Starting Grid 2018 US F1 GP
Event: US F1 Grand Prix
Track: Circuit of The Americas
Lewis Hamilton starts the US GP from pole for the 3rd time in a row this year. Next to him will be Kimi Raikkonen in the Ferrari. The last time he started the US Grand Prix from the first row was back in 2005, 13 years ago! Raikkonen starts on the softest tyre compound (Ultrasoft) and might be able to pass Hamilton on the run up to turn 1.
Sebastian Vettel has to start 3 places down, due to a penalty he got by the stewards for driving to fast under a red flag situation in FP1. Toro Rosso drivers Brandon Hartley and Pierre Gasly again got grid penalties for power unit replacements. Honda is developing very quickly now and the power unit is getting stronger each race. Max Verstappen received a 5 places grid penalty for replacing his gearbox and starts from P18.
See all used power unit elements in 2018.

Below you can find an overview on the available race sets for each driver and team to do the 2018 US Grand Prix on.
Because Max Verstappen broke his right rear suspension in Q1 he has 2 sets left of the Ultrasoft tyres.
Although 2 of the practice sessions were driven on wet and intermediate tyres, Mercedes hasn't got any unused Supersoft or Ultrasoft tyres left.
Ferrari ordered 1 set more of the Supersoft tyre and can use brand new tyres during the race, which might give them a slight advantage.
