Peter Windsor looks back at the Hungarian GP - at another polished and unchallenged win for Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton and also at Max Verstappen's audacious, dazzling race to P2 for Red Bull-Honda. Haas-Ferrari's decision to switch to slick tyres on the formation lap was rewarded with a place in the points for Kevin Magnussen - but why, Peter asks, were Haas alone in thinking this way?

Ferrari were again uncompetitive, with Sebastian Vettel finishing only sixth and Charles Leclerc struggling with soft-tyre degradation before switching early to the hardest Pirelli. P4 went to Lance Stroll's Racing Point RP20-Mercedes, although Renault have again protested the legality of this 2019 Mercedes-based car; and both Haas-Ferraris were penalised 10sec for use of radio transmissions (aiding the driver) on the formation lap. Even so, Magnussen deservedly still finished tenth, ahead of Leclerc's Ferrari.
