The British GP looked so straightforward - so easy. It would be another Mercedes one-two, with Lewis Hamilton leading home Valtteri Bottas.

Then, at the close of the race, it all went wrong: Bottas's left-front tyre gave way from the constant punishment. On the last lap, so did that of Hamilton. Max Verstappen, who had held a solid third place throughout, could have inherited an incredible victory for Red Bull-Honda - but he choose to stop for new tyres just before Lewis's drama.

Now they were on the closing lap together - Lewis limping, Max on-the-limit. And it was Lewis who made it first, reviving memories of Jim Clark's epic win at Silverstone in 1965.

Peter Windsor analyses Hamilton's win for the ages - and details, too, the excellent work of Verstappen and Ferrari's Charles Leclerc. In this video he also reviews the races of Daniel Ricciardo, the two McLaren drivers, Racing Point, Seb Vettel and the big accident involving Alpha Tauri's Daniil Kvyat.
