Mercedes W12 'Automatic' rear suspension in action
Here you can see, where the Mercedes W12 got it's amazing top speed from during the last Turkish Formula 1 Grand Prix. You can see that the rear is being lowered above a certain speed to reduce the drag that the high rake setup causes.

Brilliant setup, and legal too. Mercedes always keeps a few new design advantages up their sleeve to stay just ahead of everyone else. They are a smart team.

The rules are pretty clear:
10.2.2 Any powered device which is capable of altering the configuration or affecting the performance of any part of any suspension system is forbidden.
10.2.3 No adjustment may be made to any suspension system while the car is in motion.
Humm. Sounds illegal now (10.2.3), but the FIA have known about it thus far...
