Pierre Gasly reflects on his early racing career

Born in the French city of Rouen, Pierre Gasly’s start in motorsport came like many before him, in karting, where he made his way up to French Formula 4 and, then, Formula Renault, where he competed as part of the Red Bull Junior programme.
From there, he moved to Super Formula and F1 feeder series GP2, which he won in 2016 before eventually being promoted to Red Bull sister team Toro Rosso at the end of 2017.
Now, in 2019, the young Frenchman Pierre Gasly is racing alongside Max Verstappen at Red Bull, but the 23-year-old insists it has not been an easy ride to achieve his dream of competing for one of Formula One’s biggest teams.
